Personally I measure waist at the smallest part when it curves in then, belly button, then hips :)
It's important to measure because since we are adding muscle at the same time as losing fat sometimes the scale can lie. Ever stay at the same weight and wonder what the heck my jeans are loose this can't be right? Odds are you lost inches so measure, measure, measure :)

In the mean time, in between time..don't get too anxious and try to measure your results on a daily basis. Get your daily high on how great you feel, and your weekly one on how far you've come :)
